Thank goddess I have found another adult woman who watches this show alone. My favorite detail is when their tails wag when they’re happy.

Love this. Can you weigh in on the hot topic of how they afforded this house on a part-time archaeologist's salary.

I do have a theory because that house would sell for almost $2mm today. I feel like the Heelers purchased it from a family member who bought it maybe in the ‘90s.

I came looking for this house price chat! I live in London now but went to uni in Brisbane and Bluey often makes me homesick. Brisbane landmarks are always in the background of the show and I love pointing them out (although no one else cares!)

A lot of the architecture is very familiar and well observed eg the library design.

My favourite topic is how much I reckon the house is worth though! I think $2m is a pretty good shout, maybe more.

Queenslanders are handsome homes with beautiful wooden features like the floors and fretwork as you say, although I find the interior can be quite dark owing to the opaque glass, verandahs (sp. ✅) and other features to keep them cool. So the Heelers’ renovations have made the house light and airy... but possibly hotter.

Also, unlike other Aussie homes they have no gauze/ fly wire in the windows so mosquitoes and huge spiders easily come indoors and I am not a fan of that at all. (Good for watching birds in the trees outside your bedroom, bad for sleeping soundly).

Brisbane can get terrible floods and many suburbs with these houses are along the river so I always thought Queenslanders were also on stilts because of that as well as air circulation, but that could be completely wrong.

Bluey’s school is called something like Glasshouse Primary. The Glasshouse Mountains are about 1 hr north of Briz so that’s quite a school run!

I absolutely loved this piece. Right up me strasse!!

You are right. They are built high like this not only for ventilation but for flood safety too.

1. This is incredible. 2. Shout out to the architecture in the pillow fort episode, during which among the many rooms constructed for it is a nightclub, which Bandit has to climb through and marvels at on his way to the bathroom.

This was so fun. Bluey reminds me a lot of Hey Arnold. The nuance and care for the characters shines through so much.

Love the architecture, also love the landscaping and attention to plants in the show. My kids and I can often recognize the plants as ones we’ve seen in Hawaii and SoCal landscaping and cultivated gardens.

So fun. My kid is too old, so we missed watching Bluey by a few years but loved this deep dive.

Love this. My husband and I consistently marvel at how well Bluey captures parenting. Check out the Will Smith Zoo School designed by Lake Flato - it’s like bluey’s school in real life!

Love this! The school and a lot of the kids toys - like the play stand — are Waldorf. Waldorf is very big in gnomes -also big in Bluey— and fairies… Here for this!

This was freakin hysterical!! We love Bluey so much. My kids walk around all the time saying “it was the 80s man!” 🤣 The last episode crushed me. I cried so much…!

So glad to see someone talking about Aussie architecture and interiors!! I too am obsessed with how they combine traditional and modern (some cool stuff happening in the UK with this as well, though typically a little less interesting 🙈). Also Bluey sounds lovely 🥰
